Falling Upward
This was a surprise recommendation given to me by a good friend. Richard Rohr was first a Franciscan monk and writes from that foundation. However, it is not an overly religious or preachy book. It is a well thought and descriptive account of how there are two halves to most people’s lives. The second half of life often comes after significant trauma, loss, divorce, health scare or other major life event. It is a positive and uplifting guide to navigating the new and open second half of life. The message is one of hope, moving upward and onward, not falling down. It blends and uses messages from the world’s religions.
